Paolo Cammarota

Paolo advises plaintiffs and defendants in arbitration, mediation and litigation in New York’s state and federal courts. He is experienced in negotiating settlements, as well as handling the enforcement of judgments and awards. Over the last decade, Paolo has represented a variety of clients, including Fortune 500 companies, closely held firms, and high net-worth individuals in complex commercial litigation cases and appeals before U.S. state and federal courts. He is an alumnus of Stanford Law School and a former litigator with Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP.  After graduating from the University of California at Berkeley in 1994, Paolo had stints in London and Germany with British Telecom and Deutsche Telekom before focusing on the law.

In addition to working on disputes, he also has regulatory experience, and has advised clients on compliance with the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, U.S. money laundering rules, and Federal securities regulations, as well as working on matters before the S.E.C. and C.F.T.C.

His industry experience includes insurance (shareholder litigations, contractual disputes, regulatory issues, and white-collar prosecutions), accounting (representing Big Four accounting firm in litigations and regulatory actions), and finance (for various major banks and investment funds), as well as representing individuals. He is experienced at all stages of the dispute resolution process, including filing and answering a complaint, handling discovery, presenting a case, and collecting or disputing a judicial award.

Paolo has also advised on matters of public international law. He has worked for the United Nations Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia (ICTY) and the High Commissioner for Human Rights, as well as advised non-profits and NGOs on international legal issues including treaty interpretation and state responsibility, as well as state immunity under U.S. law.
